MISS SCOTLAND COLLABORATION

I had the privilege of working with Miss Scotland 2019, Keryn Matthew, to design and make her a costume for the Talent Segment of the Miss World 2019 competition in London. The costume was inspired by traditional Highland Dress and incorporated traditional methods of pleating and draping. The idea was to modernise this style of dress and make it wearable for the lovely Highland Fling inspired ballet piece which Keryn had choreographed and performed herself. Below you can see the design process from initial sketch, to toile, to final completed costume, both on the mannequin and on Miss Scotland herself.
