COLLABORATION WITH GRETNA GREEN

In February 2019 I was part of a group of young designers commissioned to design and create a set of wedding dresses, each from a different era (spanning from 1580-1950). I was assigned 1700 and undertook extensive research on the period, its fashions (including head wear) and the materials used at this time. I designed a Mantua style wedding dress, made with my own original textiles, inspired by historical textile designs, using modern techniques. This included laser cutting, foiling and applique. Above you can see images of the final costume on both the model and in the final exhibition, where it was showcased in Summer 2019 at Gretna Green.
